Join the Cohort of Youth2Lead Pioneer Educators
We are looking for highly effective educators in the St. Louis region to shape the inaugural year of Youth2Lead. Youth2Lead Pioneer Educators will prepare for the program’s launch in summer 2025 and oversee Youth2Lead clubs after school in the 2025-26 school year. Each Pioneer Educator will receive $3000 for their involvement.
Eligibility
We seek educators in St. Louis City and St. Louis County who have:Eligibility
- Passion for engaging youth in shaping their communities
- Evidence of instructional effectiveness (any subject)
- (Preferred) Experience overseeing afterschool clubs
- (Preferred) Experience designing curricula
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Help refine the Youth2Lead curriculum by developing detailed implementation plans (16-20 hours, summer 2025)
- Participate in training on selected topics covering state/local policymaking, survey design, data analysis, and engaging youth in policy advocacy (6 hours, summer-fall 2025)
- Establish a Youth2Lead club and recruit 6-10 students (2-4 hours, early fall 2025)
- Oversee all Youth2Lead club activities and periodically submit data on club progress (2025-26 school year, about 50 hours total)
- Participate in check-in meetings (2025-26 school year, 6 hours)
We prefer applications from elementary or middle school teachers who meet all of the desired qualifications. However, we will also accept applications from pairs of educators—one school/district leader and one teacher in a pair—in which the leader contributes to curriculum development in summer 2025 and the teacher participates in all other activities (training, establishing and overseeing Youth2Lead club, check-in meetings). Each pair should submit a single, joint application.
